English webinar video on clinical trials  The Guidance Function has hosted webinars in 2023 about various data sources and the requirements and processes that researchers may encounter when applying for different types of data. Due to high demand, we have created videos of our webinars in Danish before the summer holidays, and all of them are now available on the Guidance Function’s website. As the Guidance Function also has many international users and inquiries, we are currently in the process of creating webinar videos in English. The previous video was on registry data, and this week, we are publishing the video on clinical trials. In the video, we cover the most important requirements and processes you must be aware of when you want to do clinical studies. The video also introduces the most essential aspects of the Scientific Ethics Committees and Good Clinical Practice. Videos of the remaining topics will be released in English throughout the fall of 2023. The Guidance Function closes

The Guidance Function closes As part of the joint public initiative “The Research Health Data Gateway” and with funding from the national level, the research support unit OPEN in the Region of Southern Denmark has managed the project the “Guidance Function”. The purpose of the Guidance Function has been to offer first-level guidance on the frameworks and requirements that researchers may encounter when applying for projects and requesting access to health data. During the period 2021-2023, the Guidance Function has provided direct guidance to researchers and created several supporting products for the benefit of researchers and clinicians, including guides for data access, approval process procedures for all project and approval types, and webinars, among others. The “Guidance Function” project concludes at the turn of the year, and the materials and collected experiences gathered are handed over to the Danish Health Data Authority and the Ministry of the Interior and Health, so it can be incorporated into further work on the “Vision for Better Use of Health Data”. From 2024 inquiries regarding the Guidance Function is addressed to the Danish Health Data Authority English – Sundhedsdatastyrelsen and the Ministry of the Interior and Health The Danish Ministry of Health | Indenrigs- og Sundhedsministeriet (sum.dk). Questions regarding research support for researchers in the Region of Southern Denmark can be directed to OPEN OPEN – Open Patient data Explorative Network – forside (rsyd.dk). OPEN’s services for researchers in the Region of Southern Denmark continues unchanged. The Guidance Function will continue normal operations until the end of 2023 and will still be available for guidance, newsletter distribution, and website maintenance. The website is expected to remain accessible in 2024 as well.  OPEN expresses gratitude for the trust placed in us by the joint public working groups and steering committees. We are pleased to have assisted the numerous users who have utilized the Guidance Function’s website and received direct guidance. Videos on the Guidance Function’s website – Now available in English  The Guidance Function has hosted webinars in 2023 about various data sources and the requirements and processes that researchers may encounter when applying for different types of data. The videos cover the following topics: Clinical quality databases Clinical trials Patient record data Registry data Biobanks The Guidance Function also has a significant number of international users and inquiries, which is why we are currently in the process of creating webinar videos in English.The first video in English is already available on the website and focuses on patient record data.
